Turret Gateway

The grade I listed Turret Gateway was built in 1422-3 as the entrance to the inner bailey of Leicester Castle. By 2016 the gateway was suffering from falling stone and was on the Historic England Buildings at Risk Register owing to its declining condition.

Working with Levitate, Sarah undertook a condition survey on the structure, identifying defects and where possible their causes.  She then prepared a scheme for repair, including drawings and specifications.  These works were carried out and led directly to the building’s removal from the Buildings at Risk Register.
