South Molton Street

Unlocking the potential of a historic street in the heart of the city

A row of Grade II and II* listed terraces in Westminster held huge potential but had become tired, fragmented and overlooked. The estate saw an opportunity for regeneration that would respect the heritage while bringing new life to the area and I was brought in to help make that happen.

Working alongside Stiff+Trevillion Architects, I helped shape and deliver a sensitive, sustainable approach to repair and renewal. My role focused on the building envelopes and internal conservation: restoring historic shopfronts, repairing roofs and windows, improving thermal performance, and reinstating lost features like cornicing and architraves. Each intervention was carefully considered to bring these once grand interiors back to life without compromising their character.

I continue to provide expert conservation advice, support listed building consent applications and collaborate closely with the wider team to ensure the project stays true to its historic and architectural significance.

The result is a renewed street with a clearer sense of identity. Reconfigured micro-units and reinstated residential spaces will support local life and the community, proving how heritage and modern needs can come together to create something quietly transformative.
